Millonarios will face Llaneros at El Campín Stadium on Monday, July 28, in a Matchday 4 fixture of the Liga Betplay. The match is scheduled for an 8:10 PM (COL) kickoff and will be broadcast on WIN+.
Coming off an extended two-week preparation period, Millonarios is looking to rebound after a disappointing 1-0 loss to La Equidad in their league opener. The team now prepares for its home debut against Llaneros, aiming to secure its first points of the season and appease its supporters.
“When you aren’t clinical and you miss several clear goal-scoring opportunities, these things can happen,” Millonarios manager David González said in a press conference. “A team that seemingly had no way of getting to us ends up winning the game, which leaves us completely off-balance.”
The defeat left Millonarios in 5th place on the aggregate table with 47 points, missing a chance to close the gap on leaders Santa Fe. Regarding potential new signings, González remained cautious: “Until the transfer window closes, we can’t say if more players will arrive or not. For a club like Millonarios, bringing in players can be difficult for reasons beyond football. I am happy with the players who have arrived, but we won’t say it’s closed until it’s officially closed.”
In contrast, Llaneros enters the match with momentum after a 2-1 victory over Boyacá Chicó. Their efficiency in front of goal earned them the win and has positioned them 5th in the current league standings. The team is also successfully navigating the relegation battle, sitting 17th in the average table with a 1.09-point average, ahead of Boyacá Chicó (1.05), Envigado (0.81), and Unión Magdalena (0.55).
Key players to watch include Millonarios’ 22-year-old midfielder Nicolás Arévalo, who was one of the league’s top players in duels won (139) in 2025. For Llaneros, Brayan Urueña has been a significant contributor, tallying two goals and five assists in 23 appearances this year.
The last meeting between the two clubs, on February 11, 2025, ended in a 2-2 draw. David Silva and Juan Carlos Pereira scored for Millonarios, while Geovan Montes and Bryan Urueña found the net for Llaneros.
