A spokesman for the Ministry of Health confirmed Gaza strip Dr. Ashraf Al-Qudra – in a press conference held today, Wednesday – said that more than 7,000 sick and wounded people need urgent surgical intervention after the health system in Gaza was completely out of service.
Al-Qudra revealed that hospitals in Gaza have become unable to provide health services to the sick and wounded who fall as a result of the ongoing Israeli bombing.
He said that the international community did not deal seriously with the distress calls launched by the Ministry of Health in Gaza since the start of the Israeli aggression, which accelerated the collapse of the health system in the Strip.
Al-Qudra pointed out that hospitals in Gaza have turned into shelter corridors whose corridors, departments and courtyards are filled with displaced people, which hinders the provision of safe medical services and exposes the lives of the wounded to more complications.
He warned that those displaced to hospitals seeking protection and safety suffer from an unsafe environment in which there is neither adequate water nor personal hygiene, which makes diseases and epidemics spread among them rapidly.
Al-Qudra called for urgent interventions to save the collapsed health system and Fatah Rafah land crossing Ensuring the flow of medical aid and fuel, in addition to the immediate entry of medical delegations.
