And in India, the second phase of the ongoing Corona vaccination campaign began today, as Modi took the first dose of the vaccine at the Delhi-based All India Institute of Medical Sciences. At this stage, citizens over the age of 60 and those suffering from chronic diseases over 45 will be vaccinated.
The campaign, which began on January 16, has covered about 15 million people so far nationwide.
Vaccines are given free of charge in government hospitals and health centers, while they cost 250 Indian rupees (about US $ 3.40) in private hospitals.
Meanwhile, India continues to record more than 15,000 cases of corona every day.
