The Ukrainian air force said it had shot down Russian fighters, while the British Prime Minister announced a new military aid package for Kiev in the face of the Russian invasion.
CNN quoted a European official as saying that about a quarter of the Russian forces used in the invasion of Ukraine are no longer able to fight.
In parallel, Ukrainian intelligence said that the Russian army is regrouping its forces in the east of the country, and is planning to advance towards Kharkiv and then Mariupol, to return later to attack Kyiv.
Here are the latest developments on the 46th day of this war:
5 people were killed and 5 others wounded in Russian bombing of two cities in eastern Ukraine, which is awaiting a large-scale Russian attack, a regional governor said Saturday evening via Telegram.
“Five people were killed and 5 others were injured in Russian shelling in the Donetsk region,” said Pavlo Kirilenko, governor of the Donetsk region, adding that 4 of the dead were killed in the city of Voglidar, and one in the town of Novomykhailovka.
And fierce fighting escalated in the area, which the Ukrainian authorities urged its residents to leave before an imminent attack by Russian forces.
