Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) has named Ticketmaster a Founding Partner for its newly transformed downtown Washington, D.C. arena, significantly expanding the long-standing collaboration between the two companies.
The multi-year strategic agreement will integrate Ticketmaster’s technology to enhance the fan experience for the NHL’s Washington Capitals, the NBA’s Washington Wizards, the WNBA’s Washington Mystics, and other live events hosted at the venue. The partnership aims to create a seamless and personalized journey for attendees, from ticket purchase to the final moment of an event.
As part of the deal, Ticketmaster’s platform will be deeply embedded within the arena’s design, technology, and operations. The collaboration also extends to the Monumental Sports Network (MNMT), where Ticketmaster will gain brand presence through broadcasts, in-arena content, and digital platforms.
“This is a transformational partnership that accelerates our shared vision for the arena of the future,” said Jim Van Stone, MSE’s President of Business Operations and Chief Commercial Officer. “With Ticketmaster as a Founding Partner, we’re not only bringing cutting-edge ticketing technology to our fans, but we’re also ensuring a smarter, safer, and more customized journey.”
This agreement is a key component of MSE’s ongoing $800 million+ renovation project. Ticketmaster joins United Airlines and Vanda Pharmaceuticals as the third Founding Partner in the initiative, which seeks to create one of the nation’s most advanced entertainment venues and contribute to the revitalization of downtown Washington, D.C.
“As MSE reimagines the in-venue experience through innovative infrastructure, immersive content and transformative technology, Ticketmaster is excited to support this new era of live entertainment,” said Marla Ostroff, Managing Director of North America at Ticketmaster.
