More than a thousand events will be presented in the cultural program of the 2023 San Marcos National Fair

As part of the work that the governor of Aguascalientes, Tere Jiménez, carries out to offer the best edition of the San Marcos National Fair (FNSM) in history, the April verbena Cultural Program was presented, which is made up of more than 1,000 events, 95 percent of them free.

For the first time in history, the program is joint between the Cultural Institute of Aguascalientes (ICA) and the Aguascalientes Municipal Institute for Culture (IMAC), who will work to present international events and activities, worthy of the American Capital of the Culture 2023; In addition, in another innovation, through the portal www.viveica.gob.mx/foros, visitors will be able to consult the program and the forums in which the events will take place.

Alejandro Vázquez Zúñiga, director of the Cultural Institute of Aguascalientes, explained that the stages in which the program will take place will be: The Lake Forum, Patio de las Jacarandas, “Víctor Sandoval” House of Culture, Morelos Theater, “Antonio Leal” Theater y Romero”, Terán House, Stallworth Basement, “Jaime Torres Bodet” Library, Former School of Christ, Government Palace, Aguascalientes Theater and San Marcos Garden; besides that the cultural activities will be extended to all the municipalities of the state.

“I celebrate the coincidence that occurred between both institutions, the transversal work from its planning, in the exchange of ideas and reviews; This collaboration also allows Guanajuato to participate in the scenarios”, highlighted the head of the ICA.

He stressed that said program includes music, dance, theater, cinema and, for the first time, an extension of the fair in the municipalities, two days in each one. He announced that as part of the activities that will be carried out in those areas, the Fair will be presented.

Among the most anticipated stages is the Foro del Lago, where from April 15 to May 7 three artists will perform per day; some of them are Chetes, on April 15; Here Comes The Kraken, on April 20; La Lupita, on May 5 and closing with a flourish, The Aguascalientes Symphony Orchestra on May 7.

For his part, Octavio Ozuna, director of the Aguascalientes Municipal Institute for Culture, highlighted the importance of this unprecedented collaboration between both cultural institutions with the main objective of detonating culture as a strong tourist attraction.

“In the Carranza Cultural Corridor we will have activities for the whole family, from artistic presentations, children’s workshops, activities to promote reading and the craft pavilion. All our activities will be free”, mentioned the director.

For her part, Katia Nilo Fernández, from the Directorate of Cultural Production and Programming of the Guanajuato State Institute of Culture, mentioned that they feel very honored because Guanajuato artists will be able to participate in this FNSM 2023, where they will present plays, dance, and ballet. , among many other cultural activities for attendees.

Finally, they mentioned that in this edition the Carranza Cultural Corridor will have The Railway as its theme, due to the role it plays in the development of the state and the tradition rooted in thousands of Aguascalientes families.
