Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca crushed South African rival Kaizer Chiefs, 4-0, on Sunday, in a postponed match for the first round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
The Moroccan team’s quadruple, Mohamed Onajem, Ayoub El Kaabi, Masoufia and Yahya Gebran took turns, from the penalty spot, in the 7, 44, 86 and 90 minutes, respectively.
With this victory, Wydad raised its score to 6 points at the top of Group Two, ahead of Houria of Guinean who has 4 points, while Kaiser came third with one point, and Petro Atletico of Angola followed him without balance.
It should be noted that the Wydad match and its guest Kaizer Chiefs, was held in Burkina Faso, after the Moroccan authorities refused to allow it to be held at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca “due to the health safety associated with the recent developments of the Coronavirus pandemic.”
Morocco imposes a ban on flights with South Africa, due to the new strain of Corona virus there.
