Hespress reported that the Moroccan authorities have arrested a 27-year-old Russian citizen, according to an international search card issued against him by Russia.
The “Hespress” website said that the Russian citizen was arrested at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca on Tuesday, on suspicion of being associated with a criminal network active in theft in the Yalta region, Russia.
The aforementioned foreign citizen was arrested immediately after his arrival on a flight from Mauritania, where the process of being registered in the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) indicated that he was being searched internationally under a red notice issued within the year 2018 at the request of the Russian judicial authorities.
The Moroccan website indicated that the suspect was kept under the measure of pre-trial custody pending the extradition procedure, in parallel with the Russian authorities’ notification of this arrest in order to send the extradition file.
