Marrakech (Morocco), May 12 (.).- The Government of Morocco said this Thursday that it will increase by two thirds (in one place) the participation of the private sector in public projects in the next thirteen years.
The Moroccan Economy Minister, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, said today at a conference in Marrakech that increasing the participation of the private sector will help in the recovery of the Moroccan economy impacted by the covid health crisis and the effects of the war against Ukraine.
“In this context marked by a reduction in the budgetary room for manoeuvre, it is more urgent than ever to release the initiatives of the private sector in terms of investment and combine the energies of the public sector in this phase,” said the minister who participated in a conference in the framework of the annual meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Alaoui added that this measure will help consolidate the “sustained and sustainable” recovery of the Moroccan economy.
The minister recalled that her country has made various efforts to simplify administrative investment procedures, reform the financial sector, improve the quality of the country’s infrastructure and strengthen human capital.
