Russia has warned the Ukrainian authorities against attempts to escalate and adopt a military scenario in the Donbas region in the southeast of the country.

“We would like to warn the Kiev regime and the hot heads that serve or manipulate it, against further escalation and attempts to implement a scenario based on the use of force in Donbas,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a press briefing.
Zakharova added that Russia calls on the Ukrainian authorities to stop “drafting new agreements and documents” to settle the crisis in Donbas and implement the obligations stipulated in the Minsk agreements.
In a related context, “Novosti” agency quoted an informed source as saying that Russia views the strategy of “ending the occupation of Crimea” recently announced by Kiev as “an unacceptable threat of aggression against two entities of the Russian Federation”, referring to the Crimea and the city Located in Sevastopol.
The source added that Russia would consider the participation of any country in the so-called “Crimean platform” an infringement of the territorial integrity of Russia.
Earlier this month, the Russian presidency expressed concern over the re-increase in tensions in the Donbas region, stressing that the priority is to prevent a renewed civil war there.
