A mother-of-three shared shocking images of horrific burns covering her legs after a McDonald’s cup of scalding hot water tipped over her.

Rosie Chapman, from Saint Albans, London, claims the cup she got from the Hemel Hempstead branch was ‘poorly put together’, causing scorching hot water to spill over her legs on October 16.

The 28-year-old also slammed staff members, claiming she was told to leave the store as it was closing time – despite ‘crying scared in pain’ while sitting on the bathroom floor.

She took to social media to share pictures of her inner thigh left blistered and raw from the heat.

Images taken a few days later shows her scarred and puckered skin wrapped in plastic – and she says she might need a skin graft to repair the damage.

In a post on the McDonald’s UK Facebook page, Ms Chapman wrote: ‘After a poorly-put-together cup containing scalding hot water, [I was] refused to be let into the store for a wet towel water, ice, everything I was screaming in pain for.

‘After sitting on the floor in the bathroom with my skin blistering, I was crying scared in pain, [but] told to leave as it was closing time! I may possibly need a skin graft.

‘Please explain why your staff are so poorly trained, [why] your drinks could be hot enough to cause this and where the hell was any ounce of compassion for the pain and suffering, I was dealing with.

‘The security guard on the door refused to let me in.

‘I was asked to leave and to stop screaming once I finally got let in.

‘Not one tap in the bathroom had an option for cold running water.’

‘You will see from the CCTV exactly how it all panned out. I’m so upset with how little compassion any of the staff had that night. I was not some teenager loitering outside being a nuisance.

‘I’m a mother to three children. Who I cannot care for at this moment in time.’

Her post prompted outrage by concerned Facebook users.

Emma Scott wrote: ‘Disgusting. McDonald’s should be ashamed of itself for poor training of its staff.

‘That particular restaurant should be answering some tough questions.’

Brogan Young added: ‘This is bloody disgusting, I hope you get what you deserve.

‘How can staff not possibly help! There’s enough of them, I’m sure they wouldn’t like their family to be in that situation.

‘First aid trained or not, its common sense and should at least offer to help.’

Rhiianna Parke wrote: ‘How can McDonald’s serve water that hot to do that to you!

‘Would everyone be so judgmental if it was spilled on a child?’

Responding to those who questioned whether Ms Chapman held the cup wrong, Ms Parke added: ‘Never mind if the cup was put together properly or if Rosie held it wrong, this obviously isn’t her fault, the water should NEVER [have] been served this hot to cause 1st, 2nd, 3rd degree burns and mostly likely skin graft injuries!’

McDonald’s has been approached for comment.
