The green house with large windows and the brown front door, along with its foundation, was loaded into a specialized wagon, and was transported to a new location, six streets away from its old site, where spectators lined the sidewalks to take pictures of the event, as the house moved, at a maximum speed of 1 Mph, to the new address, “635 – Fulton Street.”
Nothing to see here, just a historic San Francisco Victorian home coming down the street! Today it’s being moved 6 blocks for more than $ 400,000. It’s old location near Turk and Franklin will soon be home to more than 60 apartments. @ abcewsayarea

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the relocation of the house had been in the planning stages for years, and Phil Joy, in charge of moving the house, told the newspaper that he had “had to obtain permits from more than 15 agencies in the city.”
Partly the move is difficult, Joy said, because the first part of the relocation involves going down a slope. “It’s difficult for the house,” he said.
With a crowd of onlookers, gawkers and nervous engineers in tow, a 139-year-old Victorian home was moved a quarter mile the wrong way down a hilly San Francisco street early Sunday.

Along the way to the new location, parking meters were cut, tree edges trimmed, and traffic signs obstructing the vehicle’s movement were moved.
The Chronicle also reported that Tim Brown, the owner of the six-bedroom house and a San Francisco broker, will pay about $ 400,000 in fees and transportation costs for this historic British-Victorian architectural landmark.
