On Thursday, the head of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee of the “Ansar Allah” group in Yemen, Muhammad Ali Al-Houthi, re-published a tweet he had written in 2017 and directed it to the Emirates at the time.
Al-Houthi said in a tweet that he posted on his Twitter page: “I call on the Emirati regime to allow Ambassador Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh to return to Yemen.
He added, “If the UAE considers Ambassador Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh a prisoner, then we are ready for an exchange.”
In 2017, the head of the Houthi Supreme Revolutionary Committee published a tweet calling on Abu Dhabi to allow the son of former president Ali Abdullah Saleh to visit his father.

On December 4, 2017, the Houthi Ministry of Interior announced the killing of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
The Ministry of Interior issued a statement that was read on the Al-Masirah channel of the Houthi group, Ansar Allah, in which it said that “the crisis of the treason militia has ended by tightening complete control over its dens and establishing security throughout the capital, Sana’a, its suburbs, and all other governorates.”
