A mum has divided Australians after she shared her simple recipe for Weetbix slice and labelled it Australia’s ‘cultural dish’.
A furious debate was sparked on TikTok after Brisbane mum Vanessa Strong, 31, shared how she puts the dessert together and people labelled it both ‘delicious’ and ‘disgusting’.
In the video, Vanessa revealed you will need six crushed Weetbix, one cup of shredded coconut, one cup of brown sugar, one cup of self-raising flour, two tablespoons of cocoa and 250 grams of melted butter.

All you need to do is bake the mixture for 15 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius and then drizzle melted chocolate and coconut on top.
‘Everyone says Australia doesn’t have a cultural dish,’ Vanessa wrote alongside her video.
‘This is my Aussie family recipe.’

Since the video was posted, more than 400,000 people have watched it, with many saying they have never heard of such a delicacy.
‘I’ve never seen this in my life and I’m Australian,’ one woman posted.
‘Me as an Australian, what the f**k is that?’ another commenter added.
Many said they think of the dish as a New Zealand dish or something regional.
Others disagreed with calling it Australia’s national dish, saying that Bunnings sausage sandwiches and Anzac biscuits are what the country is known for.

All of the 31-year-old’s recipes are ‘family secrets’ that she has had passed down from other family members.
