A mum has revealed her simple hack to storing toilet paper safely away from her children’s reach – but has been slammed over the innocent storage tip.
The Australian woman painted a circular, wall-mounted plant holder black before securing it to her bathroom wall above the family toilet.
She then stocked it with rolls of toilet paper and a small decorative plant.

But many wondered why she would want to make her toilet paper the centre of attention in the small room.
‘I don’t understand why people would want to make toilet paper a focal point. Nice piece of art instead maybe. Don’t want to come across as nasty, just my opinion,’ one mum wrote.
‘Definitely not a fan, toilet paper shouldn’t be a decoration,’ another mum said.
While others made direct fun of the storage solution.
‘When everyone’s panic buying toilet paper and you haven’t seen any for months, you will marvel at this art installation,’ one woman said.
‘It is a sign of the times we live in. Loo paper is a valuable commodity in 2021,’ another laughed.
But some people agreed with the mum, and decided to copy the idea, with one woman claiming it ‘looks classy’.
‘Try having four kids under the age of four, anything that’s on the wall, high up will be somewhat safe. So this is something that I would definitely go for,’ a busy mum revealed.
Putting the shelf up proved to be more difficult than it looked, according to the mum who didn’t have instant success with the project.
‘Don’t use stick on 3M hooks, it crashed down in less than 24 hours,’ she warned.
Others agreed they don’t like to use the hooks as they have has similar problems.
One woman posted a photo of her Kmart planter on the group, explaining she likes to keep her toilet paper there.
Many mums jumped on board saying it definitely looked better than the original poster’s efforts but some people disagreed.
‘It needs to be up high so it doesn’t get pee on it,’ one woman said.
And while people were not sold on this toilet paper hack others in the group have succeeded in getting their ideas across.
Earlier this year one woman’s suggestion on saving toilet paper went viral in the group.
Another mum shared a picture of her toilet-paper storage solution – which people said looked much better
The budget-savvy Australian mum simply squashes the toilet roll before she puts it on the dispenser.
This makes it harder for the roll to spin, so her kids can’t just tug on the end of the roll and end up with ‘way too much’.
‘Kids home from school? Going through toilet paper faster than usual?’ she teased with her post.
Before showing exactly how she puts the paper on the holder.
‘This would be perfect for us, my daughter pulls it and it comes off. then she calls me because the toilet paper is running,’ one mum laughed.
And it appears the trick doesn’t just stop small children from ripping through a roll of toilet paper.

‘I will be doing this for my partner,’ one woman said.
‘I will do this for my husband, I hear the toilet roll holder and just cringe,’ another said.
Other mums thanked the poster for her tips – after they were dolling out toilet paper manually.
‘I used to put it out of reach so they had to yell out for me to ration it for them,’ one mum said.
‘I draw a line on the wall three or four squares down – it is an easy measurement for all,’ another said.
