An Australian woman who hadn’t cleaned her tile grout in more than a decade has shared how she transformed the dirty floor and made it look sparkling new.
Sharing images to the popular Mums Who Clean Facebook group, Libby said she initially never knew grout needed to be cleaned and thought the dark colour was natural.
‘How sad is this… all night I kept waking up wondering if it was time to scrub my grout! After seeing many posts of successful grout scrubs, I’d decided to give it a go myself,’ she said.
‘Who even knew that grout needed scrubbing? Not me! I just thought that’s what tiles looked like! First thing this morning, I started scrubbing my 16-year-old kitchen tile grout and here are the results.’

To make the grout look brand new, Libby said she used the $5.50 Oates scrubbing brush from Mitre 10 and the $3 Harpic White & Shine toilet bleach.
While cleaning the grout was hard work and took a long amount of time to complete, Libby said she’s happy with the end result.
‘This is a seriously satisfying job!’ she said and encouraged others to give it a go.
The end result looked fantastic and impressed others online who also shared their product recommendations.

‘Wow what a difference! I would love to do that but it would take me years! My whole house is tiles,’ one woman said.
