An Australian mum has impressed thousands online after sharing how she made ‘floating balloons’ in the background for her daughter’s birthday.
Posting to the Kmart Inspired Homes Facebook group, Jessica, from Perth, created the outside decorations by stringing fishing line from the roof gutter to the back fence and attached colourful pastel balloons from Kmart.
‘Our gutters have little slits on the side of them (the little clips you can buy to hang Christmas lights would work too), and our fence has wooden slats so we ran the line through the top,’ Jessica said.
‘I used sticky tape to attach the ends of the balloons to the line so that they would slide around.’

While the end result looked fantastic and well decorated for the party, Jessica said it took a whole three hours to complete.
‘Only a couple balloons popped as I was hanging them but the rest lasted the whole afternoon,’ she said.
The DIY enthusiast also shared snaps on Instagram to further explain the easy but time-consuming method.
Jessica said she used four packets of Kmart pastel balloons priced at $2 each.
