Music legends Patti LaBelle and Fantasia are set to go head-to-head in an upcoming episode of Celebrity Family Feud.
A preview of the episode captures a humorous exchange when host Steve Harvey asks LaBelle’s team to name an “affectionate term that starts with ‘baby.'” Before she can answer, the iconic singer humorously snaps, “Oh shut up!” at her publicist, Aliyah Crawford, who had interrupted her, drawing laughter from Fantasia and the audience. LaBelle then offered the answer “baby mama,” which proved correct and secured 10 points for her team.
LaBelle’s game show appearance follows her recent 81st birthday celebration in May, which she marked with a major concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. During the show, she encouraged the audience not to fear aging, telling the crowd, “Don’t be scared. 81 is wonderful, OK?”
Fantasia, meanwhile, is channeling her efforts into an upcoming gospel album. In a recent social media post, she shared that she felt a divine calling to create spiritual music. “God has been telling me to do a gospel album for years,” she explained. “The world right now is dark… I want to give my Father, who’s been so good to me, back what he deserves.”
The episode, which also features the Arquette family competing against Martina McBride, is scheduled to air Thursday, July 24, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. It will be available for streaming on Hulu the following day.
