In a tweet, Musk claimed Twitter’s deputy standard counsel, James Baker, was dismissed from the corporation “in mild of fears about Baker’s feasible function in suppression of facts critical to the public dialogue.”
The revelation about Baker’s firing will come as journalist Matt Taibbi, who writes the substack publication TK News, tweeted a supplemental note to his initial “Twitter Files” thread, accusing Baker of allegedly vetting the info just before it was handed together with no informing Twitter’s new management.
Musk stated that when he asked Baker to describe why he experienced reviewed the Twitter File components in advance of they ended up released, “his clarification was… unconvincing.”
James Baker did not straight away answer to a request for comment.
The “Twitter Information,” which were being tweeted by Taibbi on Friday with the acceptance of Musk, uncovered some of the inner workings of Twitter’s information moderation procedures, including the supposed suppression of a 2020 tale about President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden’s laptop.

Taibbi has promised to reveal supplemental “Twitter Data files” materials in conjunction with journalist Bari Weiss, a former op-ed writer for The New York Moments.
Baker’s firing will come a little extra than just one month since Musk took more than as the new operator of Twitter.
