Mystery surrounds body found in an abandoned campervan next to a highway

A man was found dead inside an abandoned campervan parked on the side of a major highway, sparking an urgent investigation.
NSW police were called to a rest area near Goonoo Goonoo cattle station on the New England Highway at 11.45am on January 18, following a concerned welfare call.
Police found the body of a man who is yet to be formally identified, but who is believed to be 55-years-old, inside the parked campervan.

Inside the van, officers noticed drawers were open and a generator was missing.
The man’s death is not currently deemed suspicious, but detectives have began an investigation.
Officers are calling for anyone who has dashcam footage from the area or who may have seen the vehicle at the rest stop to come forward.
