A snowstorm Monday that dropped significant accumulations of snow on parts of southern New Jersey prompted some school districts to announce schedule changes for Tuesday.
Snow piled up across much of the state, with Cape May County being hit the hardest. Forecasts called for as much as 8 to 12 inches in that county by the time snow finally stops falling. Preliminary reports from the National Weather Service show heavy accumulations in other Jersey Shore towns, as well.
