Nancy Pelosi urged, President of the US House of Representatives, President Donald Trump, to sign the spending budget bill to avoid a government shutdown, stressing in her tweet on the need to sign aid amounts to reach those who are entitled before the “Christmas” celebrations.
This comes after The Democratic Speaker of the House of Representatives has responded to President Trump’s call for an increase in stimulus money after Congress approved a new relief package for Corona this week, saying she was ready to push for the $ 2,000 checks the president had requested.

Pelosi wrote on Twitter: “Republicans have refused to specify how much the president wants for direct checks,” and blamed Republican lawmakers. “Finally, the president has approved $ 2,000 – the Democrats are ready to bring it up this week with unanimous approval. Let’s do it!”
Earlier, Pelosi praised Democrats’ work to get direct stimulus payments included in the relief bill despite Republican opposition, and said, “We have in the legislation also direct payments, not in the Republican bill, for working families in America.”
Democrats and Republicans initially declared victory over the passage of the long-awaited relief bill, with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer both taking credit.
Schumer expressed his approval of the final bill, even though it lacks the $ 160 billion in new and domestic government aid that Democrats have previously been lobbying for inclusion.
After Pelosi’s tweet Tuesday night, Schumer appeared to call on Trump to pass the bill as it currently is, indicating that Congress may pass more relief money into a subsequent aid package, writing on Twitter, “Trump needs to sign the bill to help the people and keep the government open and we are.” Happy to pass more of the aid Americans need, “noting that the Democrats spent” months “trying to obtain incentive checks worth $ 2000.
Congress had approved a $ 2.3 trillion package to provide long-awaited coronavirus relief and fund the government through October 2021.
