Italian club Napoli confirmed in an official statement today, Tuesday, that their 29-year-old Greek defender Costas Manolas suffers from a first-degree muscle injury.
Manolas was replaced 15 minutes after the start of the match, in which Napoli won 2-1 at Udinese in the 17th round of “Calcio” yesterday.
The club said in its statement: “Manolas, who was replaced a quarter of an hour after the start of Sunday’s match against Udinese, underwent medical tests in the club’s clinics, which showed that he had suffered a first-degree injury in the right external occlusive muscle.”
Napoli is preparing to face Empoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in the 16th round of the Coppa Italia tomorrow, Wednesday, before hosting Fiorentina in the 18th round of the League next Sunday.
