The Near Earth Objects Study Center of the US Space Agency “NASA” announced the monitoring of 3 asteroids, which it described as “potentially dangerous”, approaching Earth.
The center indicated that the asteroids will pass near Earth safely on December 25.
The largest of them will approach Earth, a distance of 3 million km, and a diameter of about 200 meters.
This asteroid 501647 (2014 SD224) approached Earth in January 2020 and is expected to approach it in December 2021.
It should be noted that “NASA” classifies all space objects that approach the Earth for a distance of 0.05 astronomical units (about 7.5 million kilometers) and have a diameter of more than 460 feet (about 140 meters), as “potentially dangerous.”
