Tanzanian health officials announced that at least 15 people have died and more than 50 are receiving hospital treatment due to unidentified infection.
Medical sources said that the patients suffer from nausea and vomiting with blood.
“The disease has not yet spread, and the infection has been detected in one area, where people vomited blood and died after their treatment was delayed in hospital,” said the chief doctor in Chonia district, Felista Kisandu.
The doctor added that the initial clinical examination showed that the patients, mostly men, suffer from stomach ulcers and liver disease.
The authorities in Tanzania have sent health experts to the area where this disease was detected.
