HIt has been one of the soap operas of the summer in the NBA. The hit in the last playoffs, the exit of Terry Stotts and the non-signing of Jason Kidd for the bench of the Blazers sparked endless rumors about the figure of Damian Lillard, who seemed prepared to leave Portland in search of a ring that resists him.
Although the player did not speak publicly, the lack of high-profile signings to compete for the title and the choice of Chauncey Billups as a coach they made many experts put ‘Dame’ on the market, sounding for teams like Lakers, Sixers or Celtics.
Has been his own Lillard, base ‘all star’ and brand new Olympic champion in Tokyo 2020, who has shelved the rumors and has done so with a message of reassurance for fans of the Oregn franchise on social networks, stating that he is staying in Portland.
“Back for much more … #RIPCity (as Portland is known) is my city”, wrote the player on Instagram in a message that was accompanied by a photo of Lillard surrounded by fans of the Blazers, the team with which he debuted in the NBA and of which he will continue to be the great star.
