Rapper Drake has mocked Fred VanVleet following his emotional departure from the Toronto Raptors, joking: ‘Good luck with everything on the Guangdong Dragons……..I mean the Rockets’.
VanVleet recently signed a three-year, $130 million contract with the Houston Rockets after seven seasons in Toronto.
The point guard said a heartfelt goodbye to Raptors fans on Instagram on Sunday.
‘Words can’t do justice to how thankful I am to the city that watched me grow from a young kid praying for a chance to a NBA CHAMPION, all-star, and a father of 3!’ VanVleet wrote.
‘I am forever indebted to the franchise that gave me a shot when no one else would.’

Drake — the Raptors’ most famous fan — responded by trolling VanVleet, joking that he was being shipped off to a basketball wasteland.
‘My look alike…the love is forever thank you for your character and your contributions over the years the city will never forget!” the rapper wrote.
‘Good luck with everything on the Guangdong Dragons……..I mean the Rockets.’
VanVleet, who played a key role in the Raptors’ 2019 championship team, replied with simply: ‘relax.’
