LA Lakers’ worst start in 65 years is ‘92% about Anthony Davis’ and NOT LeBron James or Russell Westbrook, claims ex-NBA champion Channing Frye – as he says he could be ‘the worst jump shooter’ in the entire league!
Former NBA champion Channing Frye has called out Anthony Davis and blamed him for the majority of the Los Angeles Lakers struggles.
The Lakers are 0-5 and have shot the ball at a historically bad rate en route to the team’s worst start in 65 years.
‘This is not about LeBron [James],’ Frye, said on the Road Trippin podcast. ‘This is not about Russ. This is about A.D. This is 92 percent about A.D.’

‘This is not about Russ. This is about A.D. This is 92 percent about A.D,’ he said on podcastÂ
‘He’s the youngest. He has the ability to play three different positions. … A.D., for the last two or three years, might be the worst jump shooter in the NBA.’Â
‘A.D. won a championship, give him kudos,’ Frye continued. ‘After that championship, he has not shown any traits that he can replicate that [elite level of play].’Â
Davis has been plagued with injuries since the Lakers won the title, playing in only 80 of a possible 169 games for the Lakers.Â
When he has played he hasn’t played anywhere near what is expected for a player with his talents.Â
Last season Davis shot an abysmal 19 percent from 3-point range in the 40 games he played. Down from the nearly just as bad 26 percent he shot from beyond the arc.
The Lakers have been attempting to trade point guard Russell Westbrook who has also struggled to shoot the ball since his arrival in LA, however Frye believes even more players should be on the trade block.
‘Other than LeBron, everyone is on the block,’ Frye said. ‘It’s just the honest truth… Take Bron and A.D. off the team, and just put Russ on that team. How many games does this team win? 30? This is an awful team.’
