LUka Doncic did her thing again on the court (26 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists) and with the referees in one of the most controversial plays of the season that ended up giving victory to the Dallas Mavericks in their visit to the Garden of Boston.
The Celtics had possession to tie the game with eight seconds left. The ball came into the hands of Marcus Smart, who rose to shoot three and try to make it 95-95 in the light, but his shot was intercepted by Doncic in an action that the referees understood as a foul.
In principle, the Celtics point guard was going to have three free throws, but then Doncic demanded that his coach request a review of the play. Kidd requested the challenge and after many reviews the referees ended up agreeing with the Slovenian.
“When the ball is no longer in his hand and you touch his hand, you know it’s not a foul. I knew they were going to agree with me. Also, every time I asked the referees when they hit my hand, they told me that It wasn’t a foul”, said the Slovenian about his action after the match.
