EForward Jerami Grant will trade the Detroit Pistons for Damian Lillard’s Portland Trail Blazers, ESPN assured.
Adrian Wojnarowski, one of the journalists with the best sources in the NBA, pointed out on ESPN that the Pistons will receive in exchange a first round of the 2025 draft, two second rounds (2025 and 2026) and the 36th pick of the 2022 draft, which takes place this Thursday in New York.
In addition to Grant, the Blazers get the 46th pick in today’s draft with this trade.
Grant, who has one year left on his contract and who will earn $21 million this season, was last year the top scorer for some poor Pistons who finished penultimate in the Eastern Conference (23-59).
The forward managed 19.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists on average per game.
The Blazers will be the fifth team for Grant, who previously played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets before landing in Detroit, where he has spent the past two seasons and put up his best numbers.
Jerami Grant is part of a family of NBA players: her father is Harvey Grant and her uncle is Horace Grant.
Interestingly, Jerami Grant is coming home with this transfer as he was born in Portland in 1994 due to his father playing for the Blazers at the time.
