“NBC” news network quoted Bruce Castor, the lawyer for former US President Donald Trump, that the latter will not testify under oath during his trial in the Senate next week.
The network’s journalist, Christine Welker, said that Trump’s lawyer confirmed that the former president does not intend to meet the demands of the prosecution party represented by lawmakers from the House of Representatives, and Castor indicated that this demand is nothing but a “promotional maneuver.”
Bruce Castor, Defense Attorney for Fmr. President Trump said “no” when asked if Trump would testify per Democrats’ request. He called the ask a “publicity stunt.”

Earlier Thursday, lawmakers in the US House of Representatives representing the prosecutor in Trump’s trial sent a letter calling on the former US president to testify under oath as part of his impeachment process from February 8 to 11.
Prosecutors said they are entitled to view Trump’s refusal to meet this requirement as testimony to his guilt as part of the process in which he is accused of inciting the revolt.
