Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the return of an Israeli woman from Syria after she crossed the border, thanking Russia for its help in returning her.
In a statement issued in the early hours of Friday, Netanyahu said he had spoken twice with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who had offered assistance in restoring citizenship.

Netanyahu thanked the Russian president for his assistance, as well as the Israeli security and intelligence services and the Israeli defense and foreign ministries, adding that “Israel has been and will continue to do everything in its power to bring its citizens home.”
On Wednesday, Syrian official media said that Russia was brokering an agreement to release an Israeli woman who crossed the border into Syria by mistake, in exchange for the release of Syrians in Israel.
