Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed, Thursday, that he informed US President Joe Biden of his intention to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.
He said in an interview with the Israeli “Channel 13”: “I told Biden that I will prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, with or without an agreement, and we will not leave the security of Israel in anyone’s hands.”
He explained, “Biden and I are good friends. We talked a lot about Iran for a full hour, and I told him that whether there was an agreement or not, my duty as the prime minister of Israel is to prevent the atrocities committed against our people from happening again.”
He added, “Biden will do anything necessary to prevent Iran from arming itself with nuclear weapons, and relying solely on an agreement with such a country is a mistake.”
“The two things that will slow down Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons are a real military threat and severe sanctions,” Netanyahu said.
And Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu considers that “returning to the nuclear agreement will pave the way for the Tehran government to acquire a nuclear arsenal.”
Netanyahu stressed that “returning to the nuclear agreement in its first form in 2015 will lead to an arms race in the Middle East, and this is a nightmare and stupidity and it is forbidden to happen.”
Advisers to Netanyahu say that they are “concerned that Biden’s advisors on foreign and security policy are composed of Obama’s advisers, and that some of them are the architects of the nuclear deal.”
