Yair and Benjamin Netanyahu
Yair Netanyahu, son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, joined the “We are all with you Abu Yair” campaign in support of his father in the elections scheduled for next March.
Yair posted, through his Facebook account, a picture of him, with the slogan “We are all with you, Abu Yair”, confirming his support for his father.

This campaign was launched after the release of a video by Netanyahu in which he expressed his sensitivity to hearing the chants of “Abu Yair”. He said, “I was moved when I passed by now in Arara, the Negev, and I saw young men who chanted for me and said, ‘Abu Yair, Abu Yair.”
He added, “They understand and know that in my era they are getting what they need.” He also called on Arab citizens to vote for the Likud party, saying, “Vote for me, do not vote for marginal lists that cannot help you.”
Netanyahu recently campaigned to attract the Palestinians of the Green Line, as he visited areas with an Arab majority, in a pre-election initiative towards a society he has long accused of racism.
According to a poll conducted by the Israel Democracy Institute, 66 percent of Palestinians in the Green Line deemed Netanyahu’s campaign to co-opt them dishonest.
Last Friday, Netanyahu announced that he would give a cabinet position to an Arab candidate on Likud’s electoral lists if his party wins the elections.
Netanyahu said, “I am proud that Nael Al-Zoubi, a respected educator who devoted years of his life to the advancement of the Arab community, joined the Likud party list … It is the first time that an Israeli Muslim citizen joins Likud.”
He added, “I will appoint Nael Al-Zoubi as Minister of Arab Society Development in my government. We have done a lot, but we have a lot to do, and we will do it together.”
Under the law, Palestinian Arabs enjoy equal rights with Jewish citizens, but in practice they complain of discrimination in employment, housing, and other matters, as they refer to a 2018 law that defines Israel as “the nation-state of the Jewish people.”
