After a gradual decline over a period of about 10 days, the death toll from new infections with the Coronavirus in Russia increased and approached for the first time since early January the threshold of 25 thousand.
Today, Thursday, the Special Operations Room to combat the spread of the coronavirus in Russia announced that it had detected 24,763 new infections, compared to 22,850 the previous day, which represents the largest toll since January 2, when 26,301 cases were recorded.
New infections are distributed among all the 85 regions of Russia, at the forefront of which is the capital, Moscow (5893 cases) and the second largest city in the country, Saint Petersburg (3041 cases), and 13.8% of new patients did not show symptoms of infection.
The death toll from the “Covid-19” disease caused by Corona in Russia during the past 24 hours increased by 570 deaths, compared to 566 deaths the previous day, while 27,956 patients recovered.
The total number of HIV infections recorded in Russia since the beginning of the pandemic has become three million and 495816 confirmed infections, of which 63,940 deaths, 549,832 active cases, two million and 882044 recoveries.
To date, the number of laboratory tests conducted in Russia to diagnose “Covid-19” infections has exceeded the threshold of 95 million (465 thousand of them during the last 24 hours), and more than 611 thousand people are still under medical supervision.
Last December, a campaign for free vaccination against Corona was launched in Russia using the “Sputnik V” vaccine, which is the first vaccine against infection in the world.
Yesterday, President Vladimir Putin instructed to start a comprehensive vaccination against Corona for all citizens, starting next week.
