Isaiah Thomas is still struggling to find a team in the NBA. After denying rumors about his departure to CSKA Moscow, the point guard has reached an agreement with the Golden State Warriors to hold private training sessions with the franchise, which will test his form to see if they give him a chance. These sessions will take place next week, less than 10 days after the official start of the training camp.
The player has already carried out these tests with the Lakers, and it seems that the feelings were good, but his incorporation was cut short when the Angelenos took over Rajon Rondo. The Mavericks also chose to give him this option, so it seems that the point guard is generating some interest in some teams, just not enough to complete his return to the league.
Collison, tough competition
We’ll see if the Warriors, who are looking to fill Stephen Curry’s backup hole, end up being the one to go for him, although Thomas isn’t the only point guard they are considering. Recently, Darren Collison, who is also looking to return to the NBA, has been working out for the San Francisco team, and he seems to have done it quite satisfactorily.
This is at least what Anthony Slater, a journalist from The Athletic, which states that those who observed the former Pacers consider that he was solid, in good shape and with flashes of the player he was. Therefore, Collison could be a tough competitor for Isaiah, who must show that his insistence is not due to mere stubbornness but rather that he is truly capable of continuing to play at the highest level.
