Lewis County General Hospital in Lowville, New York, will suspend deliveries after Sept. 24 due to the number of resignations of maternity unit employees, following the state’s covid-19 vaccination mandates. Gerald Cayer, executive director of the Lewis County Health System, said 30 hospital system employees, 21 of whom worked in clinical areas, have resigned since the New York State Department of Health announced that all health workers they had to have at least one dose of the covid-19 vaccine before September 27.
