Newborn girl DROWNS in a bathtub – as homicide cops prepare to interview the 8-week-old infant’s mother

An 8-week old baby girl has died after drowning in the bathtub of a western Sydney home.
Emergency services attended house in Shalvey at around midday on Tuesday after reports a baby was unresponsive.
The newborn was taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a serious condition, but she couldn’t be revived.
It’s believed a man arrived home and found the baby, before discovering her 35-year-old mother in distress in the backyard, 7News reports.
Homicide detectives are preparing to interview the mother, who is currently undergoing a mental health assessment in hospital.
A crime scene has been established at the property, and investigations are continuing.
A family friend said the baby girl was ‘bubbly, adorable’ and always smiling.
