Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said that the Israeli army has demobilized thousands of reserve forces in recent days without an official announcement, while a military spokesman acknowledged reducing the participation of these forces.
Military spokesman Daniel Hagari said on Monday that the army is seeking to reduce reserve soldiers in some of its rear formations, where they can be dispensed with, enabling it to maintain its capabilities to engage in combat for a long period.
According to what Yedioth Ahronoth reported today, thousands of reserve officers and soldiers who did not participate in the ground incursions carried out by the occupation forces in Gaza Since last October 27 – so that they can return to contributing to economic activity in Israel.
The newspaper quoted a high-ranking officer as saying, “There is a desire to restore economic activity. They do not want to exhaust the forces, and there will be further steps to demobilize more and more reserve forces based on an assessment of the situation.”
The Israeli occupation army had summoned between 300 and 360 thousand reserve soldiers and officers following the operation. Al-Aqsa floodwhich was launched by the Palestinian resistance on the seventh of last October in response to the occupation’s violations against Palestinian civilians and their sanctities.
