Next year’s Six Nations tournament could be pushed back in the hope that fans will be allowed in to watch the showpiece event at a later date.
The 2021 competition is due to commence on February 6 and conclude on March 13 but discussions over delaying the Six Nations have taken place, according to The Times.
‘We have to look at everything right now,’ Six Nations Rugby chief executive Ben Morel told the newspaper.

‘We need fans back. We are not about to announce that we are doing this, but it is one of the options that is there.
‘It is not straightforward and there would be no guarantee that you’d get a better situation. I wish that moving the Six Nations would solve all this, but you cannot say that.’
The RFU pleaded for state help and a Government bailout to save rugby union last month following the announcement to halt the return of spectators set to cost the English game a staggering £138million.
