Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly is asking for prayers as his newborn grandson faces significant medical complications. The Buffalo Bills legend shared the family’s health challenge in a heartfelt social media post over the weekend.
Kelly’s daughter, Erin, and her husband, Parker, recently welcomed a baby boy who was born with unexpected health issues. The infant, whom the family has nicknamed “Little Bean,” has undergone a medical procedure and remains on a ventilator.
In an Instagram post, Kelly described the situation as a “long road ahead… filled with many intricate, delicate steps in his healing journey.” He requested specific prayers for his grandson’s recovery.
“We are praying specifically that Little Bean’s body will begin to heal and adjust,” Kelly wrote. “That his lungs and heart and all of his other vital organs will grow stronger…That he’ll be able to come off the ventilator and breathe on his own.”
The former quarterback, who has publicly battled his own serious health issues including jaw cancer, also asked for support for the new parents, noting they are “physically and emotionally exhausted.”
The family’s request was met with an immediate outpouring of support online, as fans and followers offered messages of hope and prayers for the baby’s recovery and for the entire Kelly family.
