‘I want you to know that I’m incredibly thankful and blessed to have you by my side putting up with me and supporting me.

‘I hope that I can make you feel special and give you everything you deserve. I’m so lucky to have you in my life.’

Nick, who lost his match against World No.3 Dominic Thiem at the Australian Open on Friday, continued: ‘I promise that I will always try and be a better person everyday and care and love for you.

‘To many more Valentine’s days – and hopefully next time I can win a match if you come watch me play.’

Nick also shared a picture of Chiara sat on a bed with a bouquet of roses, which he sweetly captioned: ‘Happy Valentine’s B. I love you.’

Nick’s posts come after rumours swirled that the duo may have ended their relationship, after Chiara shared a cryptic post on February 2.

‘Cheaters always want you to be loyal while they’re being unfaithful,’ the post read.

It is not suggested Chiara was referring to Nick.

The pair unfollowed each other on Instagram at the time, and Nick appeared to have deleted multiple loved-up photos of the couple, before making them visible again.

He confirmed they were very much still together after his first round match, by scribbling a loving message to Chiara on a television camera lens.

Nick and Chiara started dating in July last year, three months after he split from Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya.
