While guest hosting “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” comedian Nicole Byer offered a sharp critique of former President Donald Trump’s recent claims about “out of control” crime in Washington, D.C. Her monologue targeted Trump’s statements, which were made as he announced plans to take control of the police force in the nation’s capital.
Byer sarcastically agreed that the city can be dangerous before alluding to the deadly January 6, 2021, riot. “I mean, the man’s got a point. D.C. can be a very, very dangerous place,” she said. “I remember, on Jan. 6, 2021, when someone told an angry mob to get their steps in by storming the Capitol. And that someone was the president!”
After jokingly suggesting she had gone too far and might get regular host Jimmy Kimmel in “trouble,” Byer adopted an exaggeratedly flattering tone toward Trump.
“Yes! Great job, Mr. President!” she continued. “Oh my God, you go, girl! We love what you’re doing! You’re the smartest man alive, you’re hung like a tarantula!”
