Niger’s President, Mohamedou Issoufou, expressed his happiness for the entry into force of the Continental Free Trade Zone at the beginning of 2021, describing this event as “one of the best gifts for the New Year for the whole of Africa.” The African Continental Free Zone, one of the pioneering projects in the African Union’s Agenda 2063, because it provides countless economic opportunities to the African continent, which will enable it to create conditions for processing its raw materials, enhance its economy and create job opportunities for youth.
It is noteworthy that about 54 countries out of 55 have signed the Continental Free Trade Area agreement, while about 34 countries have ratified it, and all member states of the Economic Community of West African States have ratified this agreement except for three countries so far.
