A spokeswoman for the Abuja Airport Authority in Nigeria said that a Nigerian Air Force plane crashed as it approached the airport runway, on Sunday, and the accident killed 7 people on board.
Nigerian Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, said that a Nigerian Air Force plane crashed while approaching the runway at Abuja airport, on Sunday, as a result of a malfunction in its engine.
“A King Air 350 military plane had just crashed near the runway of Abuja airport, after reporting an engine failure, while it was on its way to Mina,” Serika added on Twitter.
For his part, the Nigerian Air Force said in a statement that a plane crashed near Abuja airport, killing seven people on Sunday.
Mina is a city located 110 kilometers northwest of Abuja.
