An NRL star has been caught up in a fake extortion video of a chilling confrontation allegedly claiming to show him assaulting and threatening his former manager.
Former Kiwi Test forward Elijah Taylor has broken his silence to deny any involvement in the YouTube video purporting to be of him and his former manager Ian Miles.
The video emerged after Taylor, 30, recently won a civil court case against Miles who fleeced him out of more than $350,000 over a four year period.
The video, which has since been turned to private on YouTube shows two men embroiled in a heated argument in the back seat of a moving car.
One man purporting to be Taylor but appears to be called ‘Jase’ in the video slaps and punches another man dressed in a tie and suit claiming to be Miles.

‘Give me a good reason why I shouldn’t bash the f*** out of ya,’ Jase asks.
The other man replied: ‘Cause we go back a long way and I f***ed up. I lost the money.’
‘Jase’ slaps the man several times.
‘I know, ya f***in’ dog,’ he says.
He pulls out what appears to be a Stanley knife and threatens to stab the other man unless he pays up.
‘I’ll stab ya right now,’ he threatens.
The other man pleads: ‘Please don’t. No, please don’t.’
An angry Taylor has broken his silence to insist neither he or Miles are in the video.

‘I couldn’t believe it when I saw it,’ Taylor told Nine’s Wide World of Sports.
‘It’s not him and it’s not me; I would never stab someone.
‘I am going to have to contact YouTube and try to get it taken down; I don’t want people thinking I am like that.
‘I am angry and hurt at Miles for what he did, but I would not ever take that sort of action.’
The video remained public on YouTube for much of the day until it was made private on Tuesday night after viewers questioned whether the footage was real.
‘Fake video,’ one commented.
Elijah Taylor’s former manager Ian Miles (pictured) was also embroiled in the fake extortion video. He scammed Taylor of more than $350,000 over a four year period
Taylor was recently awarded $484,824 in damages and costs by a court in Christchurch after he was scammed more than $350,000 by his former long-time manager.
However, he’s unlikely to be paid back after Miles declared himself bankrupt.
‘Elijah is shattered as Ian was a close friend and someone he trusted with his money,’ a source close to Taylor recently said.
‘He doesn’t know what to do next and is considering police action.’
Taylor has played 186 NRL games since 2011 for the New Zealand Warriors, Penrith Panthers and most recently Wests Tigers before he was released by the club at the end of the 2020 season.

He has represented New Zealand on 11 occasions.
Last week, he signed a two year deal with UK club Salford Red Devils to play in the upcoming English Super League.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Taylor’s new club to reach out to him for comment.
Attempts to reach out to Mr Miles were unsuccessful.
