Free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has accepted a six-game suspension from the NFL for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. Announcing the decision Tuesday on “The Pivot” podcast, Beckham stated the failed test occurred last year and maintained that he never knowingly took a banned drug.
Beckham, 32, spent the 2023 season with the Baltimore Ravens, where he recorded 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns. He signed with the Miami Dolphins earlier this offseason.
The veteran receiver has played for multiple teams in recent years. After a mid-season trade from the Cleveland Browns in 2021, he won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams but tore his ACL during the game. He sat out the entire 2022 season to recover before his one-year stint in Baltimore.
With the suspension officially appearing on the NFL transaction wire, Beckham will be ineligible to play for the Dolphins until Week 12 of the upcoming season. Despite the setback, he expressed his intent to continue his career.
