The Connecticut Lottery has issued a public alert regarding fraudulent websites and mobile applications designed to impersonate its official platforms.
These deceptive advertisements, appearing primarily on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, illegally use the CT Lottery’s logo, game imagery, and other official branding to mislead users. According to officials, clicking on these ads redirects individuals to third-party websites that prompt them to register and provide sensitive banking information, sometimes including requests for cryptocurrency.
“The security of our players is a top priority and we will do everything we can to protect them,” said CT Lottery President and CEO Frank Suarez.
The Lottery advises anyone who encounters these fraudulent ads to report them immediately using the social media platform’s built-in fraud reporting tool. Players are also urged to only download the official CT Lottery app through links on the organization’s website or from verified app stores. Anyone with questions or concerns is encouraged to contact the CT Lottery directly.
