Oil prices continued to rise during today’s trading, and Brent rose above the level of $ 61 a barrel, for the first time since January 24th.
By 07:34 Moscow time, Brent crude futures rose 0.54% to $ 61.03 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 0.72% to $ 58.39 a barrel.
Oil prices had recorded record levels in about a year yesterday, after rising above $ 60 a barrel.
The rise was supported by optimism about the distribution of anti-virus vaccines and production cuts by members of the “OPEC +” group. Saudi Arabia pledged to make further supply cuts in February and March 2021.
