Miami Heat management has once again found a pearl outside of the 2020 Draft entry positions. This time it is the player with a Turkish passport Omer Yurtseven, who is leaving a very good feeling in substitution of the injured Bam Adebayo.
Yurtseven has made Florida franchise history by becoming the first Rookie with at least four consecutive double-doubles in points and rebounds.
In last night’s loss to the Sacramento Kings he stood out under the boards with 22 points (his new scoring record), 16 rebounds and a fantastic 11 of 18 shooting from the field.
Yurtseven has averaged 14.5 rebounds with 43.62% in shots from the field in the last eight games. Likewise, these have been the numbers that have allowed him to make history in Miami:
- vs Sacramento: 22 points and 16 rebounds
- vs Houston: 10 points and 13 rebounds
- vs Washington: 10 points and 14 rebounds
- Orlando: 16 points and 15 rebounds
Sacramento, for the bare minimum
Regarding the match starring Miami and Sacramento, Alvin Gentry’s men won by the minimum 113-115 after a last shot missed by Jimmy Butler (21 points and 6 rebounds). The California team ended a streak of five consecutive wins for Erik Spoelstra’s team.
Bahamian Buddy Hield was the leading scorer of his team with 26 points and 7/14 in triples; followed by De’Aaron Fox with 24 points, and a Damian Jones who contributed a double-double: 18 points and 10 rebounds.
In Miami, his entire starting five scored double-digit scoring figures: Tyler Herro (22); Yurtseven (22); Butler (21); Caleb Martin (15) and Kyle Lowry (14 points and 12 assists).
Next day the Kings will play LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers on January 5; and the Heat will face off against the Golden State Warriors on January 4.
